Living Outside the Diet Trance

A short email series about body story, cultural messaging, and the freedom that comes when we stop trying to fix our bodies.

Most of us didn’t wake up one day and decide to feel bad about our bodies.

We were taught.

Family comments. Doctors’ offices. Magazines. Social media. Churches. Friends. School locker rooms. Health advice that sounded responsible but carried a lot of shame underneath it.

Over time, all of that messaging can create what I call the diet trance — the quiet assumption that life will finally begin once our body is different.

This short email series gently explores another possibility.

What if the problem was never your body?
